Hakea
Hakea—pronounced HAY-kee-uh—began with the two Felix’s and a shared passion for plants, landscaping and the natural environment.
We named our business after one of our favorite Australian native plants. Hardy, distinctive and full of character, Hakeas produce remarkable flowers and provide valuable food and shelter for native wildlife. To us, they represent what we love about Australian plants: their beauty, resilience and connection to place.
We’re both hands-on landscapers, qualified across horticulture, landscape construction, conservation and land management. This combo allows us to consider every part of a landscape—from earthworks, soil/drainage, plant selection, habitat creation and long-term garden health.
We especially enjoy creating native and endemic gardens, water-wise landscapes and spaces where local wildlife can flourish. Whether we’re rejuvenating an established garden or creating something new from the ground up, we aim to make it beautiful, practical and suited to its surroundings.
